About
Sanjiv Sutar
Head of Frontend Engineering · Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

I lead the frontend engineering function at Merkle — setting architecture standards, technical governance and delivery estimation across four enterprise accounts and a team of fifteen engineers. My work sits where business strategy meets engineering reality: translating what a client actually needs into an architecture and a delivery plan a team can execute with confidence.
The path here ran through every rung of the craft. I started in motion and visual design, moved into standards-based interface development, then into rendering-architecture decisions, then into leading teams and owning technical direction for whole portfolios of work. Twenty years of building UI myself is what makes the architecture and estimation calls trustworthy.
Today my focus is React and Next.js at scale, Angular modernization, accessibility as a default rather than a retrofit, Core Web Vitals as a product metric, and folding AI-assisted development into how teams actually ship. I care about engineers growing, about low-drama delivery, and about frontends that stay fast and maintainable long after launch.
